  1. Two NYC pharmacies–Embassy Pharmacy in Manhattan and Fulton Drugs in Brooklyn–are being investigated by Attorney General Leticia James for allegedly charging hundreds of customers for the free COVID-19 vaccine in the early days of 2021. (New York City Patch)
  2. A new rule from the Department of Homeless Services, which appears to be a cost-saving measure, is keeping some homeless people out of supportive housing, advocates say. (Gothamist)
  3. Just one New York City hospital garnered a spot on a top 50 list nationwide. Lenox Hill hospital on the Upper East Side made the list, while NYU Langone Health Tisch Hospital, Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian Queens were among the top 250. (New York City Patch)
  4. New York City has seen a rapid drop in COVID-19 cases in recent days, which might be due in part to the rapid rise in at-home testing. Tests taken at home aren't reported to the city, mainly because city officials consider their results to be 'unverified' and say they doubt New Yorkers would consistently report negative results. However, other large cities like Washington D.C. have successfully collected at-home test results, believing it to be worthwhile. (Gothamist)
  5. Lots of movies set in New York City got 2022 Oscar nominations, including the remake of West Side Story staring Ariana DeBose, the musical Tick Tick...Boom, and Coming 2 America. (New York City Patch)
