JFK’s Grandson Jack Schlossberg Announces NY Congressional Bid
The 32-year-old will join the 12th Congressional District race, a seat being vacated by Jerry Nadler.
NEW YORK CITY — The grandson of President John F. Kennedy, has officially launched a campaign to represent New York’s 12th Congressional District.
Jack Schlossberg, 32, a lawyer, announced his campaign in a video on Tuesday. He said he wants to rebuild trust in government and "fight for democracy, for opportunity and for freedom."
The 12th Congressional District encompasses the Upper West Side, Upper East Side and Midtown. It has long been represented by Jerry Nadler, who recently announced he would not seek re-election after serving 17 terms.

"This district should have a representative who can harness the creativity, energy and drive of this district and translate that into political power in Washington," he wrote in an Instagram post
"I’m not running because I have all the answers to our problems. I’m running because the people of New York 12 do. I want to listen to your struggles, hear your stories, amplify your voice, go to Washington and execute on your behalf."

The 12th Congressional District race is expected to have multiple contenders. Assemblyman Alex Bores has also announced plans to run for NY-12.
Schlossberg is the son of Caroline Kennedy, and Edwin Schlossberg.
