NEW YORK CITY — The woman who accused Jonathan Majors of domestic violence is facing an assault charge, according to a report.

The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information for the NYPD told The Messenger on Monday night that Grace Jabbari will soon be charged with domestic violence and was expected to voluntarily report to police.

Majors was arrested March 25 on accusations he attacked a woman. He was accused of hitting Jabbari in the face with an open hand, leaving her with a cut behind her ear and "substantial pain," according to the complaint. She also said he grabbed her hand so hard it swelled and bruised, and put his hands on her neck, also leaving more swelling and bruising.

Majors, through his attorney, has maintained his innocence, and said he was actually the victim in the incident. In June, he filed a domestic violence complaint against Jabbari.

"We look forward to presenting the full facts and evidence at trial," he said in a statement.

The incident thrust uncertainty into Majors' rising stardom. The actor had achieved both critical acclaim and popularity for roles that included the villainous Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Several women and coworkers since then have gone public with accusations of abusive behavior, notably in a Rolling Stone report.
