Man Charged For NYPD-Involved Shooting After Pointing Gun At Cops
Chase Lackard, 19, has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing of a police officer.
NEW YORK CITY — A man who pointed a weapon at NYPD officers and was subsequently shot last weekend has been formally charged.
Chase Lackard, 19, has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing of a police officer in connection to the shooting incident in the Bronx, police announced.
The incident happened at 755 White Plains Rd. just after 3 p.m. last Friday, police said.

Officers had been responding to a 911 call for a dispute involving a possible firearm.
The suspect pointed a firearm at officers when they approached him at the scene. That's when police fired shots at him, striking him in the leg.

Lackard was transported to Jacobi Medical Center for his injuries.
According to multiple media reports, Lackard is apparently the son of Mount Vernon Deputy Police Commissioner Jennifer Lackard.
No officers were injured as a result of the incident.
Police are still looking for a second man who was with the suspect at the time of the incident.
An investigation remains ongoing.
