Man Fatally Struck By Train In Manhattan, Subways Delayed

An unidentified man was struck by a train near 14th Street and Seventh Avenue, causing disruptions for the 1, 2, 3 lines, officials said.

NEW YORK CITY — An unidentified man was fatally struck by a train in Manhattan, causing service on several subway lines to be "severely disrupted," officials said.

A northbound 3 train struck the man about 7:10 a.m. near the 14th Street subway station along Seventh Avenue about 7 a.m., police said.

Medics pronounced the man, who police believe to be in his 40s, dead at the scene, authorities said. The incident was still under investigation Monday morning, but police said there were no initial signs of a crime.

The fatal train strike caused delays for the 1, 2 and 3 lines that lingered hours later, MTA officials said.

"1/2/3 service is severely disrupted," New York City Transit's Twitter account posted about 9:00 a.m.
