Met Gala 2023: Celebrities Honor The Fashion Legacy of Karl Lagerfeld

Fashion's biggest night out showcased the legendary looks by famed designer Karl Lagerfeld. See photos of the best looks of the evening.

NEW YORK CITY--The Metropolitan Museum of Art's costume institute exhibition this year celebrates the historic career of famed designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Celebrities and models climbed the museum's carpeted steps for the Met Gala to kick off the new exhibit titled, "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty". Their gowns showcased vintage Chanel looks and fashion designers interpretation of Lagerfeld's creations.

Many donned quintessential garments that embodied both Lagerfeld's style and Chanel's recognizable motifs.

There were plenty of black and white dresses to be seen on the carpet as well as, tweed fabrics, camellia embellishments and the fashion house's logo. There were also plenty of other garments that honored Lagerfeld's work from other fashion brands but, many opted to pay homage to his time at Chanel.
