MTA Seizes Cars Of Scofflaws Owing $600K In Tolls, Officials Say
Twenty cars owned by "persistent toll violators" were seized Monday along the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, MTA officials said.

NEW YORK CITY — Scofflaws who owed nearly $600,000 in unpaid tolls learned that it doesn't pay to avoid ponying up their fair share, MTA officials said.
Bridge and Tunnel officers seized 20 vehicles owned by "persistent toll violators"over the span of six hours Monday at the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, officials said.
“These efforts go a long way towards securing toll revenue of which surplus is allocated to fund mass transit, and to be able to accomplish so much in a tight period is a testament to the work of Bridge and Tunnel officers,” said Catherine Sheridan, interim MTA bridges and tunnels president.
