New Year’s Eve In NYC 2022: Where To Celebrate Beyond Times Square
The Big Apple has more than one way — or place — to ring in the New Year.

NEW YORK CITY — New Year's Eve is New York City is more than just Times Square.
Sure, thousands of people (mostly tourists) will brave the cold to ring in 2023 by watching the iconic ball drop.
But the city has many, many, many more options.

Times Square
Sorry, but no list of New Year's Eve events in the city would be complete without at least mentioning Times Square.

This year, the Times Square Alliance's website makes no mention of crowd limits or vaccination policies that were seen in 2020 and 2021.
Instead, it says, "there will be a large celebration in the heart of Times Square" — and visitors may want to get there sometime on the afternoon of Dec. 31, when revelers start gathering near the entrances to viewing areas.
The official celebration will kick off around 6 p.m., when the ball is raised to the top of its pole above One Times Square at the corner of Broadway and 43rd Street.
If you go, you'll likely want to arrive early, as it's first-come, first-served. But be warned: there will be no food or beverage vendors, and no public restrooms available.
If you leave a viewing area to eat or use the bathroom, you can't return to your spot, the Alliance says.
SUMMIT One Vanderbilt
A $300 ticket will get you and your friends into the top floors of One Vanderbilt, the new 67-floor tower right next to Grand Central Terminal.
Partygoers can "free roam" all three floors of SUMMIT, watch an evening lightshow against the city's skyline and get open access to glass ledges suspended 1,100 feet above Madison Avenue, according to the event's site.

The Jazz Club
Looking for a classy, black tie affair?
Make a reservation at The Jazz Club in Aman New York, a luxury hotel in Midtown.
The New Year's Eve bash will be in a subterranean setting with live music, "the finest canapés, cocktails, champagne, and spirits flowing late into the night," the event's site states.
"With a big band performance by Brian Newman and DJ sets by Han Jiang and Jeremy Bastard," the event site states.

Maybe go for a run in Central Park?
Seriously. It's a thing.
The New York Road Runners will host a Midnight Run in Central Park.
"The countdown to 2023 begins at 11:59 p.m., and at the stroke of midnight, a fireworks display will light up the night sky and kick off the start of the 4-mile race!" the event's site states.
The event is for active New York Road Runner members, but that doesn't mean onlookers can't enjoy the fireworks and the spectacle of people running in New York City's backyard.
