NEW YORK, NY — Another New York City Marathon down for the books. Abdi Nageeye of Netherlands and Sheila Chepkirui of Kenya both took home the top honor of the day, becoming first time marathon winners on Sunday.
Nageeye was neck and neck with 2022 marathon winner Evans Chebet, but was able to use an extra burst of speed heading into Central Park for the final time being 2 hours, 7 minutes and 39 seconds. Chebet finished 6 seconds behind.
