NEW YORK CITY — It's primary election day at last and the polls in New York City closed at 9 p.m., so all that's left is the counting.
Votes are being tallied up for the City Council District 3 race between incumbent council member Erik Bottcher and challenger Jacqueline Lara.

District 3 includes the West Village, Chelsea, Hell’s Kitchen, Times Square, Hudson Square, Flatiron, and the Garment District.
More than 830,875 New Yorkers had checked in to vote by 6 p.m. Tuesday, including mail-in ballots, according to New York City's Board of Elections.

Polls closed at 9 p.m. With 97 percent of votes counted. Here are the real-time unofficial results for the NY 73rd Assembly District race.
- Erik Bottcher – 20550 votes (73.96%)
- Jacqueline Lara – 7056 votes (25.39%)
