NYC Among Best Staycation Spots In U.S., Study Finds

NEW YORK – An advantage of living in a city that's a magnet to hundreds of thousands of tourists every year is NYC is an amazing place for a staycation.
In fact, of 182 cities studied by the personal finance site WalletHub, New York City ranked 16th best for a stay-at-home vacation based on opportunities for recreation, food, entertainment, rest and relaxation.
Obviously, the city isn't the most relaxing place, but it made it for that with an amazing array of entertainment and food possibilities. Here’s WalletHub's breakdown:

Perhaps the least surprising finding: Honolulu, Hawaii, was ranked as the best city in America for a staycation. Honolulu ranked in the top 10 for all three categories, including No. 1 in recreation and No. 4 in rest and relaxation.

With a score of 23.93, Chula Vista in California ranked as the worst city for a staycation. The city’s best ranking was 155th for recreation.
