NYC City Hall Aide Kvetches About Cops Over Wine, Gets Fired
"Being a cop is like the cushiest gig in the city," said staffer Christopher Baugh in a covert video in which he also bashed the mayor.

NEW YORK CITY — A City Hall aide whose after-hours complaints about cops and Mayor Eric Adams were covertly recorded by a right-wing group has been fired, officials said.
"Being a cop is like the cushiest gig in the city," said staffer Christopher Baugh over a glass of wine in a video released this week by Project Veritas.
Baugh, who was part of Adams' advance team, also called Adams "corrupt" and questioned the mayor's strategy on the migrant crisis in videos captured by Project Veritas, but officials ultimately fired him over his comments on cops, said City Hall spokesperson Fabien Levy in a statement released late Wednesday.

"His comments today disparaging first responders are completely unacceptable, and we’ve terminated this employee effective immediately," Levy said.
The videos were apparently captured by a Project Veritas operative who was with Baugh at bars or restaurants while off the clock.

Levy, while he condemned Baugh's cop comments, also trained his fire on Project Veritas itself.
“Let’s also not forget that, time and again, Project Veritas has lied to spin false narratives and deceive the American people," he said. "This is an enterprise run by a convicted criminal and one that admitted to lying about their identity and their intent just to secretly record and have conversations with this now-former employee. It’s shameful behavior that benefits no one.”
Baugh had previously made headlines in July after he was mugged in broad daylight while scouting for a Brooklyn event for Adams, the New York Post reported.
His firing was greeted with support from Patrick Lynch, the president of the powerful Police Benevolent Association union.
"While he’s sipping wine and chuckling about cops getting shot, hero police officers are chasing down criminals with illegal guns and battling violent repeat offenders in our ‘cushy gig,'" Lynch said in a statement.
