NYC Half Marathon 2019: Route, Road Closures, Start Time

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — Some people celebrate St. Patrick's Day with corned beef and pints of Guinness, others lace up their shoes and run more than 13 miles through New York City.

The annual New York City Half Marathon will bring tens of thousands of runners to the streets of Brooklyn and Manhattan Sunday, along with a morning of road closures.

Here's your guide to the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon:

When is it? The 2019 half marathon is on Sunday, March 17 beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Where is it? This year's route starts in Brooklyn and then goes into Manhattan, where it loops around Central Park. The race starts in Prospect Park, follows Flatbush Avenue to Manhattan and then along the East Side of the island before crossing into Midtown, where runners will enter Central Park for the last four miles of the race. What roads will be closed? You can expect the course route to be closed to traffic for at least a few hours. Here's the course map again. For most of the course, the roadway will close for parking starting Saturday at 10 p.m.
