Halloween Parade Returns To Greenwich Village: What To Know

This year's parade theme is "Potluck," with organizers encouraging participants to "bring something to the table."

NEW YORK CITY — The annual Halloween Parade in Greenwich Village returns to New York City on Friday.

The parade begins at 7 p.m. but participants will start lining at 6:30 p.m. on Canal Street. The route will go up to Sixth Avenue to 15th Street.

"When we do it together and care for one another, there is enough for everyone," organizers said on the parade website.

Anyone can participate, but you must wear a costume. Admission is free, but they are VIP packages available.

New Yorkers are advised not to drive around Greenwich Village during the parade Friday.

Here are the street closures for Friday:

  • 6th Avenue between Spring Street and Canal Street
  • Dominick Street between Varick Street and Sixth Avenue
  • Sullivan Street between Broome Street and Spring Street
  • Broome Street between Sullivan Street and Varick Street
  • Spring Street between Sullivan Street and Varick Street
  • 6th Avenue between Spring Street and West 18th Street
  • West 16th Street between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue
  • West 17th Street between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue
  • West 18th Street between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue
  • 5th Avenue between 14th Street and 19th Street
  • 7th Avenue between 14th Street and 19th Street
  • West 10th Street between Sixth Avenue and Greenwich Avenue
  • Van Dam Street between Varick Street and Fifth Avenue
