NYC July 4th Weather: Hazardous Storms Predicted Monday, Tuesday
Aren't you glad you looked at the forecast? Us neither.

NEW YORK CITY — The celestial spectacles New Yorkers expect on the Fourth of July this year could also include severe winds, thunderstorms and heavy rain, forecasts show.
Rough weather is forecast for both Monday and Tuesday afternoon and evening, according to a hazardous outlook from the National Weather Service.
The city was also under an air quality health advisory Monday, the state's Environmental Conservation said. The air quality index in New York City was 101, which is unhealthy for sensitive people, including those with asthma and heart disease.

Organizers of the Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks — slated to rise over the East River 9:25 p.m. Tuesday — are closely watching the weather as they do every year, Orlando Veras, Macy's media relation director, told Patch.
"Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks can take place in the rain, as they have on numerous occasions," Vargas noted.

"If severe conditions exist as the show is set to begin, we may delay the start of the event until that weather has passed."
Macy's will work with the city to decide how to proceed should there be lightening, which would delay the show if it appeared.
The National Weather Service predicts the rough weather will come between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Patch will also keep an eye on the forecasts and incoming news in the hours leading up to the show. Until then, here's the weekly forecast.
