NYC Mosquito Control Spraying To Take Place Next Week: Health Dept

The spraying will take place on Friday, June 7 and Monday, June 10 to Tuesday, June 11, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Health Department officials said.

NEW YORK CITY — The New York City Health Department will spray aerial larviciding treatment next week throughout Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and the Bronx.

The treatment is aimed at reducing mosquito activity and the risk of West Nile virus in marshes and wetland areas.

The spraying will take place on Friday, June 7 and Monday, June 10 to Tuesday, June 11, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Health Department officials said.

The larvicides will be used to kill young mosquitoes before they grow into adults.

Parts of Marine Park and Fresh Creek Basin.

Queens

Parts of Alley Pond Park, Linden Hill/ College Point, Edgemere, Somerville, Brookville, Rosedale and Kissena Park.

Staten Island

Parts of Arlington, Bloomfield, Charleston, Chelsea, Travis, Fresh Kills, Richmond Town, Old Town, South Beach, Blue Heron Park and Wolfe’s Pond Park.

The Bronx

Pelham Bay Park North, Pelham Bay Park South.
