NYC No Longer In Top 20 Priciest ZIP Codes For Home Sales: Study

Just six New York City ZIP codes ranked among the top 100 most expensive in the country, according to a PropertyShark study.

NEW YORK CITY — Trying to buy a home in New York City's most expensive ZIP Codes remains out of reach for most but the richest 1-percenters, but now more places across the country fetch higher prices.

New York City no longer is on the top 20 priciest ZIP Codes in the nation — a first, according to a new PropertyShark study.

And just six New York City ZIP Codes made the top 100, the study states.

All told, while New York state as a whole has 17 ZIPs where home prices are sky-high, the city has lost ground in the past few years.

"Back in the Empire State, NYC’s presence weakened yet again: While 2020 marked the first time ever that no NYC zip codes were among the country’s 10 most expensive, in 2021, NYC came in below the top 20, too," the study states.

The city's most expensive ZIP Code is 10013 covering Tribeca, which 22nd on the list with a $3.2 million typical sales price, according to the study.

Another ZIP Code covering parts of Tribeca — 10007 — is 25th with a median sales price of $3.1 million, the study states.

The other ZIP Codes and typical sale prices are:

  • 10282 covering Battery Park City — $2.7 million
  • 10001 covering Chelsea — $2.2 million
  • 10012 covering SoHo and NoHo — $1.9 million
