Fugitive Prisoner Caught After Hospital Escape: NYPD

NEW YORK CITY — A prisoner who escaped police custody while being treated in a New York City hospital back in June, has been apprehended Tuesday after nearly three weeks on the run, police officials announced.

James Mossetty, 35, was re-arrested in Manhattan at around 1:47 p.m., police said.

On June 26, at 9:38 p.m., Mossetty, was being treated at NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue while in the custody of the Department of Corrections, when he fled on foot out of the building and into the FDR Drive, police said.

Mossetty apparently boarded a NYC bus after his escape from the hospital, according to a New York Times report.
