NEW YORK CITY — Foodies, prepare for the tastiest — and longest — "week" of 2023.

New York City Restaurant Week kicks off Tuesday across the five boroughs for its winter program.

The beloved event's name may be a misnomer, as it runs until Feb. 12, but that just means all the more opportunities to sample the best foodstuffs New York City has to offer on the cheap.

"Enjoy deals at some of the most vibrant dining destinations in New York City," the event's site states.

So, what's the (literal) deal?

More than 500 restaurants in the city will be participating — as in, offering a two-course lunch or three-course dinner.

Prices are $30, $45 or $60, depending on the offering.

And both indecisive or adventurous gourmands have plenty of options. The Restaurant Week website has curated collections, such as James Beard Honorees, Cozy Vibes and Best of the Boroughs that are both self-explanatory and comprehensive.

Hungry New Yorkers can also filter through the 513 restaurants to search for eateries close to them, whether by geography or taste.

Reservations actually began Jan. 10 for the general public, but diners can still book seats through links on the Restaurant Week site.

Restaurants typically opt into meal periods from Monday through Friday, although it should be noted that Saturdays are excluded and Sundays are optional for them.
