NYC Subway Delays: 12 Lines Messed Up Amid Communication Issue

An "intermittent network communication issue" was responsible for screwing up commutes on six lines.

NEW YORK — A communication breakdown was just one of the problems that caused delays on 11 subway lines Monday morning. The MTA warned of delays on the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 lines because of an "intermittent network communication issue."

The agency said it was monitoring the problem and "keeping trains moving as close to schedule as possible." But delays with a range of causes roiled commuters on six other lines for the morning rush hour.

D and N trains were delayed because of a train's brakes getting automatically activated at Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center, the MTA said, while northbound F trains were running with delays while a train crew tackled a door problem at Kings Highway.

The agency also warned of delays on A and C trains as someone needing medical assistance at 145th Street forced northbound A trains to run local from Columbus Circle to 168th Street.

Trains on the 7 line were also running slowly because of "signal modernization" at Hunters Point Avenue, the MTA said.
