NEW YORK CITY — Wet winter weather is swinging into New York City.

Up to 1 inch of snow could fall over the city as part of a widespread wintry weather system blowing through starting Friday evening and into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

But while parts of New Jersey and Connecticut could be hit by 6 inches of snow, the city will largely dodge the white stuff, forecasters said.
