NYC Weather: 50 MPH Winds To Pound Morning Commuters
Powerful gusts could slam the city until noon, forecasters say.

NEW YORK — This commute might blow you away. Powerful winds will pound New Yorkers through the Friday morning rush hour, forecasters say.
Gusts as strong as 50 MPH will threaten Manhattan, The Bronx and Staten Island until noon, according to a wind advisory from the National Weather Service. Forecasters expect 47 MPH gusts to batter Central Park.
The gales started overnight, with John F. Kennedy Airport recording a 56 MPH gust at about 1 a.m., the weather service says. Sustained winds Friday will range from 15 to 25 MPH, according to the forecast.

November will get off to a sunny and brisk start with a high temperature near 54 degrees Friday, the weather service says. Expect more sunshine and temperatures in the low 50s over the weekend.
