NYC Weather: 80-Degree Highs Bring Early Touch Of Summer This Week

NEW YORK CITY — Summer is coming early to New York City, at least for a couple days.

High temperatures Thursday and Friday will crack 80 degrees, with sunny skies pairing with the balmy weather, according to the National Weather Service.

A weekday warm streak will kick off Tuesday as highs reach 71 degrees, then 76 degrees on Wednesday before hitting the 80-degree mark Thursday, the forecast states.

"Sunny, with a high near 82," Friday's forecast states.

But don't bask too much in the positive vibes, New Yorkers.

Ever-present concerns about climate change aside, the city is under a "red flag warning" until Tuesday evening, and perhaps into Wednesday, meaning conditions are ripe for potential wildfires.

"A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels will create a significantly elevated fire growth potential," the warning states.

And the summery weather won't stick around for the weekend, so don't make any early beach day plans.

The high will be 70 degrees on Saturday, with mostly cloudy conditions and a chance of showers in the evening, according to the forecast.
