NYC Weather: Coastal Storm Threatens Up To 2 Inches Of Rain, Flooding
A coastal flood warning will be in effect through Saturday morning as forecasters expect heavy rain and up to 50 mph wind gusts.

NEW YORK CITY — Batten down the seaside hatches, New Yorkers — a coastal storm threatens to bring flooding and nasty winds to the city's waterfront.
A coastal flood warning will be in effect Saturday from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. for waterfront areas in Queens, while a coastal flood advisory encompasses all boroughs but The Bronx, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters warn of up to 2 feet of flooding above ground level.

Up to 2 inches of rain could fall near the coast, with 1 to 1.5 inches of rainfall "likely" elsewhere, according to a National Weather Service briefing.
The heaviest rain is likely Saturday between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m., the briefing states. An inch could fall in the span of three hours.
Wind gusts could also reach up to 50 mph in the wide storm, forecasters said.
The timing of winds Saturday morning will determine how much flooding occurs, the coastal flood advisory. Moderate flood threshold could be reached if winds don't shift until high tide, it states.
