NYC Weather Forecast: 4 Inches Of Snow Predicted

NEW YORK, NY – A winter storm taking aim at New York City could dump up to four inches of snow Saturday night, latest forecasts predict.

The winter blast is expected to shock New Yorkers who basked in spring-like temperatures in the 60s this week. The mercury is expected to plummet to 26 degrees Friday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The snow will start snowing around 7 p.m. and continue until about 3 a.m. Sunday. The predictions are for accumulation of between two and four inches.

It'll be followed quickly by a return to early spring. The NWS forecasts temperatures to return to 60 degrees by Tuesday.

Rain likely, mainly before 11am. Cloudy, with a temperature rising to near 54 by noon, then falling to around 49 during the remainder of the day. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest 12 to 17 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 26. Northwest wind 8 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Saturday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 37. North wind 5 to 9 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
