NYC Weather Forecast: Hour-By-Hour As Freezing Temps Arrive

NEW YORK, NY — New York City is under a "freeze warning" on Friday and into Saturday morning, as the first freezing temperatures of the season are expected to arrive in the area.

Freezing temperatures are "imminent," the National Weather Service says, after an "arctic" cold front moved into the region. "These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation," the service says.

And wind gusts of up to 45 miles per hour will make it feel even colder, with wind chill temperatures in the high to mid teens at times.

The record low temperature for Nov. 10 at Central Park is 27 degrees. Forecasters say temperatures could drop to 24 there on Friday night, with wind gusts making it feel even cooler. Record lows could be set at several other weather stations across the city.

The front is expected to leave the area by Sunday and into early next week, when temperatures will be back in the 40s and 50s.
