NYC Weather Forecast: Get Ready For A Rainy Weekend
The National Weather Service forecast predicts rain could hit New York City every day this weekend.

NEW YORK, NY — New Yorkers should get ready for a wet few days with plenty of rain in the forecast for the first weekend in May.
The National Weather service predicts drizzles, showers and full-on rain to pummel the city continuously from Friday to Sunday night. Rainfall should start during the day Friday and grow more severe as the weekend goes by, according to the weather service's forecast.
An overcast Friday will see "patchy drizzles" before 4 p.m. and a chance of rain showers in the evening. A thunderstorm may hit the area between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. The weather service predicts rainfall between a tenth- and a quarter-of-an-inch, with the possibility of more depending on the severity of the potential thunderstorm.

The chance of precipitation on Saturday is about 80 percent and on Sunday it is about 90 percent, the National Weather Service predicts. Rainfall estimates are between a tenth- and quarter-of-an-inch for Saturday and between a half- and three-quarters-of-an-inch for Sunday.
Both high and low temperatures this weekend are predicted in the 5os, according to the forecast. Saturday will be a bit warmer with a high temperature of 66 degrees, the National Weather Service predicts.

Here's the full forecast from the National Weather Service for the next week:
- Today: Patchy drizzle before 4 p.m., then patchy drizzle with a chance of showers after 4 p.m. Areas of fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 58. East wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
- Tonight: A chance of showers before 9 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m., then a chance of showers after 3 a.m. Patchy fog before 7 p.m. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 54. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 3 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 66. North wind around 6 mph.
- Saturday Night: Rain, mainly after 3 a.m. Low around 54. East wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
- Sunday: Rain. High near 59. East wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
- Sunday Night: Rain likely before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.
- Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.
- Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 70.
- Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 58.
