NYC Weather Forecast: Irma Remnants To Hit City; Jose Causing Dangerous Swells
Showers and storms will linger the rest of the week as the last bits of Irma move toward the East Coast.

NEW YORK, NY — New York City is going to feel the effects of Hurricanes Irma and Jose this week, as the last remnants of the deadly storm work its way toward the East Coast and the mid-Atlantic hurricane produces dangerous currents on the city's shores.
Irma is little more than a cluster of rain showers at this point, a far cry from the once-Category 5 hurricane that has killed 56 people in the United States and Caribbean. New York City will feel it in the form of warmer temperatures and on-and-off rain through Friday.
"The remnants of Irma should impact the region in two rounds this week," the National Weather Service says. "The first will come this afternoon and tonight as a warm front draws closer, leading to a chance of showers mainly this afternoon and tonight. The next round of should arrive beginning Thursday afternoon, with chances for showers and thunderstorms continuing into Friday."

AccuWeather says the precipitation won't be any cause for concern.
"There will still be enough moisture for scattered showers, but it will in no way be a washout or bring a flash flood threat to the area," AccuWeather Meteorologist Brett Rathbun said. "However, those attending any outdoor events will want to grab a jacket or umbrella."
And while Hurricane Jose is spinning around in the Atlantic Ocean and expected to veer off back away from the United States, that storm is producing some potentially dangerous rip currents for anyone who may be on the coast this week.
"Swells from distant Hurricane Jose will likely result in rough surf and a moderate to high risk of rip currents through the weekend," the weather service says.
