NYC Weather Forecast: Midweek Storms Loom Before Hot Weekend
The storms could drop nearly half an inch of rain by Thursday morning.
NEW YORK, NY — Thunderstorms will likely interrupt an otherwise sunny week ahead of an unseasonably hot weekend with temperatures in the 90s, the latest National Weather Service forecast shows. More than half an inch of rain is expected to fall between Wednesday evening and Thursday afternoon.
The first half of the week will bring nicer weather, the forecast shows. Sunny skies and high temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s are expected for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The storms could first strike Wednesday evening and continue throughout Thursday, with the chance of showers and thunder escalating early Thursday morning, the forecast says. The nasty weather is expected to drop close to half an inch of rain by 8 a.m. Thursday.

Friday will mark the start of an unseasonably warm weekend, with sunny skies and high temperatures in the lower 90s expected for Saturday and Sunday, the forecast shows. The normal high for the time of year is 83 degrees.
