NYC Weather Forecast: Miserable Days To Come

Wednesday's record-breaking heat seems like a mirage

NEW YORK, NY – Wednesday's weather had New Yorkers thinking of spring but, alas, it was too good to be true. High temperatures will actually remain above normal for the next week, but the sun is going on hiatus until Monday and we've got some dreary, wet weather on the way.

It already feels like weeks since the record breaking high of 78 degrees recorded in Central Park Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

There's rain in the forecast every day through Sunday. There's no snow on the horizon, at least through the end of the month. March may come in like a lion, though.

"We will be watching for a southward dip in the jet stream over the Northeastern states during early March," AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok says.

"While the colder air slated for early March will not pack the punch of early January, it may get cold enough for more storms to come about with snow," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dale Mohler says.
