NYC Weather Forecast: Rainy Day Before Stormy Evening

Here's what to expect.

NEW YORK, NY — Showers and a possible thunderstorm will interrupt an otherwise sunny week in New York City on Tuesday. About a quarter inch of rain is estimated to fall by Tuesday evening, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

The rainfall could start by noon but is expected to pick up around 4 p.m., the forecast shows. A chance of showers will linger through Tuesday night. The high temperature will be cooler than normal at about 67 degrees.

"The rain, abundant cloud cover and an onshore wind flow will result considerably cooler high temperatures as compared to yesterday," the NWS said in a statement Tuesday.
