NYC Weather Forecast: Springtime Snow Looms After Sunny Weekend
Soak up the sun while you have the chance.

NEW YORK, NY — The last days of winter will feel more like spring than the actual first day of spring. Clear skies and slightly chilly temperatures lie ahead until Tuesday, when snow showers could hit New York City on the vernal equinox, the latest National Weather Service forecast shows.
Saturday and Sunday will bring prime late-winter weather, with highs in the mid- to high 40s and sunshine all day. Those temperatures are a bit cooler than the typical high of around 50 degrees for this time of year.
The sunshine continues until Tuesday, when there's up to a 50 percent chance of rain and snow that could continue into Wednesday, the NWS forecast says. The high temperature for those days is expected reach the low 40s.

"There is a chance of snow from Minneapolis to Chicago, Pittsburgh, New York City and Boston," AccuWeather senior meteorologist Alex Sosnowski wrote Friday. "However, it may be a matter of timing for any accumulation on roads in this swath with the storm next week."
Snowfall in March isn't unusual — it's normal for the city to see nearly 4 inches of snow during the month that marks the start of spring, according to National Weather Service figures. But this snow will follow a 10-day period in which three nor'easters dumped wind and rain on the weather-weary five boroughs.
