The five boroughs are under a flash flood warning until 2:15 p.m.

NEW YORK, NY — A powerful storm slammed New York City Monday morning with high winds and rain that will likely continue throughout the day. The storm has put the five boroughs under a flash flood warning until 2:15 p.m.
Up to two inches of rain had already fallen across the area as of 11:21 a.m., with about half an inch more expected to hit Central Park by late Monday night, according to the National Weather Service. The deluge could flood certain parts of the city and create a mess on streets and highways, the NWS says.
The storm will also bring wind gusts as strong as 33 MPH in time for the morning commute. Strong winds will be possible throughout the morning but they're most likely between 8 and 10 a.m., the weather service says. The winds suspended service on the NYC Ferry's Rockaway route just before 8 a.m.
