NYC Weather Forecast: What To Expect From The Nor'easter

NEW YORK, NY - The second major storm to batter new York City in a week is expected to hit early Wednesday, though its full force won't be felt until around noon.

But, by the time commuters leave work, it will be at its worst with heavy snowfall, forecasters with the National Weather Service say.

A winter storm warning goes into effect at 10 p.m. Tuesday and stretches to 4 a.m. Thursday. As much as 10 inches of snow could accumulate, forecasters say.

Tuesday Night
Snow, mainly after 2am. Low around 34. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Southeast wind 8 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Wednesday
Snow before 4pm, then rain and snow, possibly mixed with sleet. High near 37. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Breezy, with an east wind 14 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Wednesday Night
Rain, possibly mixed with snow and sleet, becoming all snow after 7pm, then gradually ending. Low around 32. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Thursday
Partly sunny, with a high near 42. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. West wind 10 to 14 mph.
