NYC Weather Forecast: What To Expect From The Snowstorm

A winter storm warning goes into effect at 5 p.m. Saturday

NEW YORK, NY – A winter storm warning has been issued for New York City as heavy snow is expected to start falling. The bad weather is predicted to arrive after 5 p.m. Saturday, with the warning remaining in place until 7 a.m. Sunday, the National Weather Service said.

Between four and seven inches of snow is expected to cover the city.

A hazardous travel advisory has been issued by the city, which is preparing to deploy 1,500 plows, according to the Emergency Management department.

Saturday
A chance of rain and snow after 5pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 37. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Calm wind becoming east 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday Night
Rain and snow before 3am, then a chance of snow between 3am and 4am. Low around 32. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Sunday
Sunny, with a high near 47. Wind chill values between 25 and 35 early. West wind 6 to 9 mph.

Sunday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 33. Light and variable wind.

Rain likely, mainly after 5pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 47. South wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Monday Night
Rain likely, mainly before 9pm. Cloudy, with a low around 47. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
