NYC Weather Forecast: When Will The Storm Arrive?
The storm could bring thunder, strong winds and even hail to the metropolitan area.

NEW YORK, NY — An approaching storm is about to slam New York City area with rain, thunder, wind and even hail, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 11 p.m. Tuesday.
The storm comes with a risk of minor flooding for urban areas, as well as damaging winds, large hail and even a possible isolated tornado in the metropolitan area, according to the National Weather Service.
The first chance of rain arrives this evening, following a foggy morning and otherwise sunny day in the tri-state area, the weather service says.

The worst of the storm will bring heavy rain and likely thunder and is expected to start soon after 5 p.m., the forecast shows. Some thunderclaps could continue until around 9 p.m. with the heavy rain expected to soak the city until 7 p.m.
A chance of rain will linger throughout Wednesday and into Thursday, with a slight chance of thunder from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, the forecast shows. The storm could soak Central Park with close to an inch of rain by the 8 p.m. Wednesday, when a cooler high near 64 degrees is expected, the weather service says.

Tuesday
Light south wind increasing to 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
Tuesday Night
Showers and thunderstorms before 11pm, then a chance of showers. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds and heavy rain. Low around 61. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Wednesday
A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 9am and 1pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 64. Northeast wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Wednesday Night
A 30 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 57. East wind 3 to 8 mph.
Thursday
A 20 percent chance of showers before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.
Thursday Night
A 50 percent chance of showers after 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61.
Friday
Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 63. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Friday Night
Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 57. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
