NYC Weather: Rain To Soak City At Start Of Wet Week
A chance of showers will loom over the city all week after a quarter-inch of rain soaks Central Park starting Monday night, forecasters say.

NEW YORK — Time to pull out the raincoats. Rain will soak New York City on Monday at the start of a potentially wet, cloudy and cool week, forecasters say.
More than a quarter-inch of drizzle will drench Central Park from Monday evening into early Tuesday morning, with the best chance of showers coming from 9 to 11 p.m., the National Weather Service says.
The possibility of rain will then loom over every day this week as seasonably cool fall temperatures set in, according to the forecast.

Monday's soak will coincide with a cold front moving across the tri-state region after "gusty" winds drive up the mercury to a high near 75 in the city, the weather service says.
The showers should stop by daybreak Tuesday as the temperature falls into the upper 50s early that morning and high pressure builds near the region, according to the weather service.

"This will allow partly sunny skies and near normal temperatures to return across much of the region," the weather service says.
The rest of the week will see a 20 to 40 percent chance of rain and high temperatures in the mid- to upper 60s, according to the weather service.
