NYC Weather: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Warns Of Large Hail, Winds
Add a severe thunderstorm watch to New York City's recent weather woes.
NEW YORK CITY — When it rains, it pours — or, in New York City's case, it gets dangerously hot before severe thunderstorms strike.
The city is under a severe thunderstorm watch Friday until 11 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Storms could carry heavy rain and damaging winds into the city, the forecast states.

"Large hail is possible as well," a National Weather Service briefing states.
The watch comes at the tail end of a four-day heat wave that gripped the city.

A heat advisory will end Friday at 6 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
