NYC Weather: Storms Loom Before Chilly Temperatures Take Over
High temperatures won't break 60 after a warm, wet Monday.

NEW YORK — Thunderstorms could strike New York City on a warm, wet Monday before chilly temperatures arrive for the rest of the week, the National Weather Service says. Showers are possible throughout Monday, with the heaviest rain and a chance of thunder expected in the evening, the weather service's forecast shows.
More than a quarter-inch of rain will hit Central Park by early Tuesday morning, while the mercury will hit a slightly warmer than normal high near 67 for Monday, according to the weather service.
Sunshine is expected for the rest of the work week, though the high won't break 60 as cooler temperatures take hold, the forecast says. A high near 51 is expected for Thursday, a level about 12 degrees cooler than normal.
