NEW YORK CITY — Grab a raincoat and an umbrella — New York City is about to get walloped by a wet winter storm.

Up to 2 inches of rain is expected to hit the city Wednesday starting about 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Snow could fall as a massive winter storm rolls in to the area, but is unlikely to stick, forecasters say. Instead, rain — a lot of it — will fall throughout the day, the forecast states.
