NYC Weekend Subway Changes: MTA Work Slated For Nov. 11-14

The MTA will be tinkering with several subway lines this weekend. Here's what to expect.

NEW YORK CITY — Get ready for skipped stations and shuttle buses, New York City, the weekend is nigh.

Before heading out to the dinner party in Bed-Stuy, the concert in Forest Hills, the [insert sport] at [insert sport place] here are the service changes the MTA would like you to keep in mind.

And, for those without plans, here are a few events going on in New York City this weekend.

No 3 Or 4 Trains Between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue And New Lots Avenue

When: 3:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday

Alternatives: Free shuttle buses will run between the stations.

No 7 Trains Between 34th Street-Hudson Yards And Queensboro Plaza

When: 12:15 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Alternatives:

  • For service between Manhattan and Queens, take an E, F, N, Q or R train.
  • Free shuttle buses will run in two sections:
    • Between 34 Street-Hudson Yards and Times Square-42nd Street.
    • Between Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue and Queensboro Plaza.
  • For service between Times Square and Grand Central take the shuttle.

No D trains Between Norwood-205th Street And 161 Street-Yankee Stadium

When: From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Also Bronx-bound trains will skip 155th St.

Alternatives:

  • For service to/from 155 Street, take a Coney Island-bound train.
  • For service between 161 Street-Yankee Stadium and Bedford Park Boulevard, take the 4 train.
  • For service to/from Norwood-205 Street, take the 4 to/from Mosholu Parkway and transfer to a shuttle bus, running between Mosholu Parkway and Norwood-205th Street. Transfer between the D and the 4 at Yankee Stadium.

Note: There will be no Coney Island-bound D service between 36 Street and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday. All D trains will run on the N line between those stations. For Coney Island-bound service to/from these stations, take a Manhattan-bound train, then transfer.


No F Trains Between Church Avenue And Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue

When: From 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Alternative: Local buses or N, D and Q trains.


No J Trains Between Broad And Hewes Streets | No M Trains Between Delancey Street-Essex Street And Myrtle Avenue

When: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Alternatives:

  • For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn/Queens, transfer to A or C trains at Broadway Junction, or the L at Myrtle-Wyckoff avenues.
  • Free shuttle buses will run between Delancey Street-Essex Street and Hewes Street.
  • For service to/from stations between Delancey Street-Essex Street and Broad Street, use nearby 4, 5, 6 stations.

No Q trains Between 57 Street-Seventh Avenue And Lexington Avenue/63rd Street

When: From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Alternatives: Take the F train between 34th Street-Herald Square and Lexington Avenue/63rd Street or transfer between Lexington Avenue/59th Street and Lexington Avenue/63rd Street.


Brooklyn Bridge-Bound 6 Trains Run Express Hunts Point Avenue To Third Avenue-138th Street In The Bronx

When: From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Alternative: Take a Pelham Bay Park-bound train.


Queens-Bound E, F Trains Skip Briarwood And Sutphin Boulevard In Queens

When: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Alternative: Take a Manhattan-bound train.
