NYC Weekend Subway Service Changes For April 8-9

NEW YORK, NY — Here's how the MTA will screw up your plans this weekend — from Friday night, April 7, through early Monday morning, April 10 — while "upgrading and maintaining our tracks, stations and signal systems."

16 lines will have altered service this weekend.

2 train:

Between 11.45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday;

• No trains run between Manhattan and Brooklyn — transfer to N, Q, R at Times Square instead
• 5 train replaces the 2 in the Bronx and Brooklyn — transfer at E 180th Street.
• Downtown trains run local from 96th Street to Chambers Street.
• Uptown trains run local from Chambers Street to 34 Street-Penn Station.

3 train:

• Between 11.45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday no trains run between 14th Street and New Lots Avenue.
• Downtown trains run local from 96th Street to 14th Street.

4 train:

Between 11.30 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday;

• No trains run between Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue — free shuttle buses provide alternative service.
• Trains run local in both directions between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and Utica Avenue.

5 train:

• Between 11.45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, no trains between E 180th Street and Dyre Avenue — free shuttle buses provide alternate service.

7 train:

• Between 12:40 a.m. and 5 a.m. Friday and Saturday, trains board at the Flushing-bound platformat Hunters Point Avenue and Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue.

A train:

• Between 12.01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, Inwood-bound trains run local from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to 125th Street.
• Between 11.45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Inwood-bound trains skip Spring St, 23 Street and 50 Street — transfer to downtown A or E at W 4th Street or 34th Street-Penn Station or transfer to E at 42nd Street for service to 50th Street.

C train:

• All weekend, 168th Street-bound trains skip Spring Street, 23 Street and 50 Street — transfer to downtown C or E at W 4th Street or 34th Street-Penn Station or transfer to E at 42nd Street for service to 50th Street.

D train:

• Coney Island-bound trains run via the from 36th Street to Stillwell Avenue and skip Union Street, 4th Avenue-9th Street, Prospect Avenue and 25th Street.
• Norwood-bound trains run local from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to 145th Street and skip 170th Street, 174-175th Streets and 182-183rd Streets.

E train:

• Between 12.01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, Jamaica Center-bound trains run local from Roosevelt Avenue to 71 Avenue.
• Between 11.45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Jamaica Center-bound trains skip Spring Street and 23rd Street — transfer to downtown A, local C or E at W 4th Street or 34th Street-Penn Station.
• Between 12.01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, World Trade Center-bound trains run local from 71st Avenue to Queens Plaza.

F train:

• At all times, Coney Island-bound platforms at Avenue I, Bay Pkwy, Avenue N, Avenue P, Avenue U and Avenue X are closed for renovation —
  • For service to these stations, take the 7 to Kings Hwy or Neptune Av and transfer to a Jamaica-bound 7.
• Between 12:01 a.m. Saturday and 5 a.m. Monday, Coney Island-bound trains run local from 71st Avenue to 21st Street-Queensbridge.
• Between 11.45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Jamaica-bound trains run local from Roosevelt Avenue to 71st Avenue and skip 14th Street and 23rd Street.
  • For service to these stations, take the 7 to 34 St-Herald Sq and transferto a Coney Island-bound 7.

G train:

• No trains between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues and Court Square — free shuttle buses provide alternate service between 11.45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday.

J train:

• No trains between Crescent Street and Jamaica Center — trains and free shuttle buses provide alternate service between 3.30 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday.

M train:

• No trains between Myrtle Avenue and Metropolitan Avenue — free shuttle buses provide alternate service between 11.45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

N train:

• 53rd Street is closed for renovation until Fall 2017.
• Between 11.45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Coney Island-bound trains skip Union Street, 4th Avenue-9th Street, Prospect Avenue, 25th Street and 45th Street —
  • For service to these station, take the N to 36 St and transfer to a local Manhattan-bound D, N or R.
  • For service from these stations, take the D, N or R to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and transfer to a Coney Island-bound N.
• Until further notice, Manhattan-bound platforms at 86th Street, Avenue U, Kings Hwy, 20th Avenue, 18th Avenue, New Utrecht Avenue and Fort Hamilton Pkwy are closed for renovation — for service to these stations, take Coney Island-bound N to Bay Pkwy or Stillwell Av and transfer to a Manhattan-bound N.

Q train:

• Between 5.45 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday, Coney Island-bound trains run express from Prospect Park to Kings Hwy
  • For service to Parkside Av, Beverley, Cortelyou Rds, Avenue H, Avenue J and Avenue M, take the Q to Church Av, Newkirk Plaza or Kings Hwy and transfer to a 96 St-bound Q.
  • For service from these stations, take the Q to Newkirk Plaza, Church Av or Prospect Park and transfer to a Coney Island-bound Q.

R train:

• 53rd Street is closed for renovation until Fall 2017.
• Between 11.45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Bay Ridge-bound trains skip Union Street, 4th Avenue-9 Street, Prospect Avenue, 25th Street and 45th Street.
  • For service to Union, 4 Av-9 Sts, Prospect Av and 25 St, take the R to 36 St and transfer to a local Manhattan-bound D, N or R.
  • For service from these stations, take the D, N or R to Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr and transfer to a Bay Ridge-bound R.
  • For service to 45 St, take the R to 59 St and transfer to a Manhattan-bound N local or R.
  • For service from this station, take the N or R to 36 St and transfer to a Bay Ridge-bound R.
