NYC's Hottest Cab Drivers Are Back For Steamy 2019 Calendar

This year's calendar features the first ever multi-driver cover, a 40-pound python and some strategically placed jumper cables.

NEW YORK, NY — The pin-up cabbies are back, and they're better than ever. The 2019 edition of the New York City Taxi Drivers Calendar hit the market Tuesday featuring the calendar's first multi-driver cover.

The calendar — an undertaking of married couple Philip and Shannon Kirkman since 2013 — features 12 real New York City cab drivers striking their best poses. A portion of the calendar's sales are donated to University Settlement each year, and the calendar has raised nearly $70,000 since its inception.

"When you think of New York they are one of the iconic things that people experience here. The other thing is that they're rarely seen," Phillip Kirkman told Patch last year. "You know you get in a cab and you don't really get the opportunity to see these individuals."

As always, poses in this year's calendar range from innocent to racy. The driver's aren't pushed into posing in any ways that make them uncomfortable, the Kirkmans said. Poses are as varied as November model Nazmul pouring sugar into a giant cup of coffee and October model Greg getting ready to clamp down on his nipples with a set of jumper cables.

Some of the most notable shots include the calendar's first multi-driver cover — the aforementioned Greg, last year's cover star Alex and Mr. January Bamba holding melting ice cream cones — Alex posing with a 40-pound python and Alam recreating the boombox scene from the movie "Say Anything."

Philip, a creative director, and Shannon, a photographer came up with the idea for a pin-up calendar after Philip created a "gag" calendar for his sister in-law featuring racy photos of his oldest brother.

The New York City Taxi Drivers Calendar can be bought online for $14.99. University Settlement helps more than 33,000 immigrant families in NYC find services such as education, housing and wellness programs. Eleven of this year's 12 models are immigrants from countries such as Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Panama and Russia, the Kirkman's said.
