NYPD Counter-Terror Officers Deployed After U.S. Strike In Syria
The NYPD said the officers were being deployed out of an abundance of caution and there are no credible threats to the city at this time.

NEW YORK, NY — The NYPD has deployed counterterrorism officers in and around the city following the military strike on Syria by the United States and its allies, according to a statement.
Officers have been deployed out of an abundance of caution, police said.
"The NYPD is working with our intelligence bureau liaisons stationed abroad as well as our federal partners, and closely monitoring the U.S. military action in Syria," the NYPD statement said. "There is no nexus to New York City, nor are there any credible threats to New York City, at this time."

Police also encouraged New Yorkers who see suspicious activity to contact police at 911 or at 1-888-NYC-SAFE.
The missiles targeting Syria struck at the heart of the country's chemical weapons arsenal following the government's suspected poison gas attack against civilians. President Donald Trump called it a "perfectly executed strike" and declared "mission accomplished" on Twitter.
