NYPD Officers Shoot Armed Suspect In The Bronx

NEW YORK CITY — NYPD officers shot a 19-year-old man in the leg on Friday in the Bronx.

The man was shot on White Plains Road near Lafayette Avenue just after 3 p.m., according to multiple media reports.

Officers had been responding to a 911 call for a dispute involving a possible firearm.

The suspect pointed a firearm at officers when they approached him at the scene. That's when police fired shots at him, striking him in the leg.

The 19-year-old man was transported to Jacobi Medical Center in stable condition.

No officers were injured as a result of the incident.

Police are still looking for a second man who was with the suspect at the time of the incident.
