Only One City Has More Big-Money Job Openings Than NYC

The Big Apple is No. 2 for gigs paying at least $100,000 a year.

NEW YORK, NY — New York City is undoubtedly a center of wealth and power, but Silicon Valley has it beat when it comes to big-money jobs. New York is second only to San Francisco in terms of the number of open gigs paying at least $100,000 a year, according to Ladders, a website for high-paying job listings.

Firms in the five boroughs — home to the New York Stock Exchange and dozens of Fortune 500 companies — are hiring for 22,648 positions with big salaries this month, according to Ladders' database of job postings.

That's about 2,500 fewer open positions than in San Francisco, where employers have 25,116 jobs open for high earners. The city and its Bay Area are a haven for major tech firms like Google, Apple and Uber.
