Father Fatally Stabbed Outside Brooklyn Bar: NYPD, Reports

A 37-year-old dad was found with a fatal stab wound in his chest on Sunday morning, police said.

NEW YORK CITY — A Pennsylvania man was found fatally stabbed outside of a Brooklyn bar early Sunday morning, according to police.

Officials identified the man as Daryl Dawkins, 37. He was a father of three — and was expecting another child soon, according to the New York Daily News.

Police found Dawkins outside of a bar on Third Avenue near 73rd Street at around 2:50 a.m. in Bay Ridge with a stab wound to his torso, officials said.

Medics rushed the wounded father to NYU Langone Hospital/Brooklyn, where he was announced deceased, police said.

Dawkins grew up in Brooklyn, but had recently lived in Tobyhanna, PA, according to reports.

“He has a good heart, he has a big heart,” Dawkins' mother told the Daily News. “I don’t know how I’m going to manage without him. He’s my backbone, he’s everything to me.”

The father is survived by one son, 9, and two daughters, 5 and 3-years-old, The Daily News reports.

“Daryl is a sweetheart. He’s my first son,” said his mother, Clay Ann Dawkins, 58, to the Daily News on Monday. “We have such a close bond, me and him talk about anything and everything.

“I know he was prob crying out for me with his last breath,” she told the Daily News.

No arrests have been made and police said the investigation remains ongoing.
