"Their plan has backfired and backfired badly," said City Council Member Erik Bottcher. "Our community will not be intimidated."

Update: Angelina Cando, 30, was arrested on charges of arson, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment, all as hate crimes, police announced late Tuesday night.
NEW YORK CITY — The new pride flag hanging outside Soho's Little Prince is five times bigger than the one destroyed by an arsonist early Monday morning.
New York City Council Member Erik Bottcher — recently targeted in his home after he showed his support of Drag Queen Story Hours — arrived at the Prince Street French restaurant the same morning to replace the flag.

The fire spread and damaged the building's exterior, said police. The woman jumped into a white SUV and drove off toward MacDougal Street.
A photo posted to Little Prince's Instagram feed shows the burned flag also bore the message, "Make America Gay Again."
On Tuesday, one Francophile replied, "On est tous avec vous," which translates roughly to "we are all with you."
The restaurant posted a photo of their new flag with a single word message: "Defiant."
Police released video and images of the woman Monday morning.

Anyone with information about the blaze is asked to contact the NYPD.
