R&B Singer Trey Songz Arrested In NYC After Nightclub Fight

The incident happened at the Dramma nightclub near Times Square.

NEW YORK CITY — R&B singer Trey Songz has been arraigned on assault charges in connection to two separate incidents in Manhattan, prosecutors said.

The first incident on Dec. 4 saw Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, punch an employee in the face at the Dramma nightclub near Times Square on Dec. 4th.

The assault appears to had happened after the employee told the singer and his group it was closing time and asked them to leave. Songz appeared in Manhattan federal court on Sunday.

The most recent incident occurred early Sunday morning inside the Mira Mediterranean & Hookah Lounge in Murray Hill. The singer is accused of damaging items inside the lounge including hookahs, DJ equipment and sofas totaling around $1,500.

The three time Grammy nominee faces assault, harassment and criminal mischief charges for both incidents.

The singer's attorney Mitchell Schuster told the New York Post that Neverson "was confronted by individuals “who instigated a confrontation and attempted to surround him.”

“His security intervened to protect him and contain the situation, and an altercation occurred in the ensuring confusion,” Schuster added. “Despite being the target of the initial provocation, Trey was arrested."

Neverson is due back in court on Feb. 18
