Rapper Bobby Shmurda Sentenced To 4 Years In Prison For Trying To Smuggle Makeshift Knives Into Rikers
The famous rapper has already been in prison since 2016.

BRONX, NY — Rapper Bobby Shmurda, AKA Ackquille Jean Pollard, was sentenced to four years in prison for trying to smuggle makeshift knives into Rikers Island jail, Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark announced Friday. The sentence will run alongside the seven years he is already serving for gun and drug charges.
The rapper's girlfriend Kimberly Rousseau was caught trying to smuggle "a sharp metal object" into Rikers inside her bra during a visit to the rapper in June 2015, according to the DA.
Both were charged with promoting prison contraband and criminal possession of a weapon. Shmurda was also convicted of perjury charges for lying to a grand jury about the incident.
